Understanding Your Nervous System.

What Is the Nervous System?
Your nervous system is the communication highway of your body — a vast network of nerves and cells that send and receive signals between the brain, spinal cord, and the rest of your body. It governs how you react to life, process emotions, and experience safety or threat.
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) has two branches:
Sympathetic: Fight, flight, or freeze responses.
Parasympathetic: Rest, digest, and heal functions.
This intelligent system is always working to protect you — but sometimes it over-functions, keeping you in survival mode even when you're safe.
How Dysregulation Shows Up
When your nervous system is dysregulated, you may experience:
Anxiety or panic attacks
Sleep disturbances
Chronic fatigue
Emotional reactivity
Digestive issues
These are not flaws. They are your body’s way of saying, “I don’t feel safe.”
Why Regulation Matters
Regulating your nervous system isn’t about ignoring stress — it’s about building capacity to feel, process, and return to balance. When your nervous system feels safe, healing becomes possible on all levels: physical, emotional, and energetic.
The Path to Resilience
Resilience isn’t about “toughing it out.” It’s about repair. By working gently with your body — through breath, touch, movement, and presence — you create new pathways of safety.
